TwitBlogs – Twitter… but blogging!?

twitblog3

I recently came across another ‘new startup’ whilst on my stumble. twitblogs a new media mash up, taking the of blogging and twittering and mashing them together. To produce, well…. a short blog, or a long twitter.

I have to be honest from my ‘mock – up’ above you can see that I am not a massive fan of this idea. My approach to this kind of thing is don’t reinvent the wheel, and definitely don’t try and  fix something that’s not broken. What worried me most about this site is that it had access to all my account info via the API, and I could log into this service even tho I had not signed up with twitblogs.

Unfortunately like so many new start ups out there twitblogs has its heart in the right place, but its just not offering something thats worth using. Twitter is great for micro blogging, and wordpress is great for blogging, anything in between is just over kill!

Wordpress is great but that shouldn’t be the end of innovation to blogging. When Twitter has 5millon + users, why shouldn’t we have a blog which works with seamlessly?

I agree, everyone should be very careful on Twitblogs because it uses your twitter username and password. I found this article on Techcrunch about the company and its founder http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/12/14/the-notorious-sam-sethi-launches-his-latest-venture-twitblogs/

Even without the security concern, however, I think Twitblogs is just making tweeting, and even blogging, more complicated than what it needs to be. I really don’t think twitblogs is solving any real user problems despite the app’s decent user interface.

    I’ll pass on Twitblogs too.

Interesting and educational, but would make something more on this topic?
