emergencyHeader

I recently stumbled across this fantastic find. “What to do in an emergency”, a book published by the Readers Digest. Apart from the book being an incredible resource to find out how to survive any imaginable threat or danger, the book has some of the best illustrations I have ever seen, and given the books age I found it awe inspiring.

This post is dedicated to inspiring graphic designers and web designers in the ways of illustration in authoring. There has been a massive leap forward in the way graphic design is used in web industry recently, but its important to consider its role moving forward as a method of explaining and communicating ideas across. You need only look at the incredible latest work of Gregory Wood to appreciate the entire sub dimension that is described as art direction. As the web evolves and moves forward I see art direction taking a much larger role in the way designers convey websites.

Meanwhile this article I hope will wet your appetite for illustration design and its potential.
